My Blank Canvas

It's actually happening! After years of promises of getting the basement refinished so I can have an actual classroom/craftroom, I can finally say my day is here!

Waterproofing--done; sheetrock--done; primer on sheetrock--done; ceramic tile in laundry area--done; drop ceiling--done; linoleum flooring--done; lights ... well, let's just say they're all up and in the ceiling. Half the room is wired. There's no actual light switch yet, so I have to go down in the dark, cross the room to the panel box and flip a switch. You see, my sweet hubby, Rick, is an electrician. Well, you know what they say about the shoemaker's kids don't have any shoes. But, at least it's a room now, and soon I'll have my shelves that I ordered from Ikea.

Hello Stephanie,

Wow, what a place to create in and have classes in !
Let us know on ATT when it's all in place and ready to get started creating in it.

I bet you will spend hours in here: it's so nice to have it all in one place and not to have to clean up in the middle of a project ! Enjoy your new space !

I had to laugh reading about your husband being an electrician and not having a switch yet... i completely understand : I have a similar husband, but when I talk to other women.... I'm convinced a lot of men are like this....:)

greetings from belgium

OMG! that is FANTASTIC! To have your own room for crafting and teaching. Could you make some pictures with someone standing in the room? It's kinda hard to see how big it is. I can't wait to see it finished with tables chairs, shelves and drawers. Let the walls stay white for now. You are gonna fill it soon enough with all kinds of projects!

what a great space, it will be fun to work with once you get shelves up and work tables etc in it.
I think it will be a wonderful place to create, once you add all your elements and lots of color

Great space! And the lighting looks good. Of course with an electrician for a hubby that won't be a problem. Looking forward to the rest of the transformation.
